Essay on Tiger in English For Children and Students



The tiger is a wild animal. Tiger is our national animal. Tiger lives in open forest. The tiger's diet is larger such as moose, deer, species, pigs, cows, horses, buffalos and goats. The tiger is a strong and ferocious animal.


The tiger’s legs are very powerful. Tiger is very fast while running short distances. They can leap up to 30 feet. The tiger’s paws are like a soft pad. They are not rock hard as they appear. 


The tiger’s claws are very sharp. They can reach up to 4 – 5 inches in length and are retractable. When tigers walk, they retract their claws in order to keep them sharp.


The tiger hight is 70 – 150 cm. Tiger lifespan 16 – 18 years. Its speed is 49 – 65 km/hour and length is 2.5 – 3.9 meter.   Female tigers give birth to two to four cubs at a time on average and can do so every two years. The tiger colored coat and its black stripes. The earthy colored coat and its black stripes in the cases of black tigers and white tigers. These are genetic variations of the Bengal tiger. The tiger hunting alone a tiger can take down prey four to five times its own size. The tiger kills cattle and sheep for its foods. 


The tiger is a solitary animal. Male and female only come together at a mating time, to share a kill or to drink, and rest at watering holes.
